  • What is the turnaround time on packages?
For orders of 10,000 pouches or less, packages are typically produced and ready to ship within 10 business days of artwork approval. For orders of more than 10,000 pouches, packages are typically produced and ready to ship in 20 business days. Lead times may occasionally be affected by film availability. • Does passing Quality testing guarantee performance in all situations?
Packaging performance depends on proper filling, handling, and distribution. Our testing confirms performance under normal conditions and reasonable distribution treatment. We’re always happy to discuss specific applications if you have unique requirements. Related to QualityFew readers
  • Is it possible to combine different SKU designs to qualify for volume pricing discounts?
Absolutely! You can combine multiple SKU designs to achieve volume pricing. To qualify, all SKUs must be the same size and use identical pouch specifications, such as film type, finish, and additional options. Our system will automatically calculate and apply the correct price break based on the total combined quantity.Few readers
  • Is your packaging Marine degradable?
Marine Degradable is a specific certification term that indicates if a package or item will break down in natural marine environments. Where our compostable materials are certified to break down in land-composting environments, it is NOT marine degradable. Why? The primary component that breaks down our compostable materials on land is the microbes inherent in composting conditions. These microbes 'eat' and digest our compostable materials made from land-born plants like corn, beetroot, cassaFew readers
  • Do you follow an industry Quality standard for burst testing?
There is no single industry-wide standard that applies to all flexible packaging formats and materials. Instead, we use validated internal benchmarks developed through testing, experience, and consultation with packaging testing experts. These benchmarks are adjusted based on material type and pouch configuration.Few readers
  • Do you provide Color Matching services?
TL;DR: Color matching is tricky, costly, and usually unnecessary thanks to our top-notch printing standards. What is color matching? Color matching is when we’re asked to match the colors in a package created by someone else to the colors in the digital artwork we’re provided. Why would someone want color matching? Pantone vs. CMYK: If your design uses Pantone colors but we print in CMYK, you might worry the colors won’t translate perfectly. Since we’re G7-certified (translaFew readers
  • How often are pouches tested for Quality during a run?
Testing frequency and sample size depend on several factors, including pouch size, film structure, added features (such as zippers or valves), and order quantity. Larger or more complex orders receive increased sampling. Related to QualityFew readers
  • Can I say my packages are compostable?
Yes! You CAN label your pouches as “compostable” or “100% compostable”. This step will let your customers know that your packaging is helping rid the world of single-use plastics. However, we do NOT recommend that your pouches be labeled “certified compostable”. Our materials (made from combinations of corn, cassava, wood pulp, and beetroot) carry either a home or industrial compostability rating and meet ASTM D6400 standards. Each component has been individually certified compostable. KeFew readers
  • What are your minimum order quantities (MOQs)?
For our standard pouch sizes, the minimum order quantity is 500 pouches per design (SKU). Each individual design must meet the 500-piece minimum. You cannot combine smaller quantities across different designs to reach 500 — every SKU must be at least 500 units. For custom-sized pouches, the minimum order quantity is 5,000 total pieces. However, you can split that total across multiple designs, as long as: Each design has at least 500 units, and All designs share the saFew readers

  • Is compostable packaging worse for the environment if it's landfilled?
Short answer: No—compostables are generally not worse than conventional plastic if landfilled, but landfill is not their intended or best end-of-life. Here’s the nuanced reality: Compostable packaging is designed to break down through biological processes into carbon dioxide, water, and biomass when it reaches a composting environment. That’s where it delivers its full environmental benefit. If a compostable package instead ends up in a landfill: It does not behave liFew readers
  • What is the shelf life of the packaging?
The shelf life of our materials is comparable to other alternative flexible packaging offerings assuming they are stored in a dry, room-temperature environment. Our compostable packaging materials need oxygen, moisture, and microorganisms to begin the degradation process. As such, the material is shelf-stable and will not break down unless in a compost environment. If you are uncertain, we recommend testing with your product to determine if it fits your shelf life needs. For more informatFew readers
  • What happens if a pouch does not meet quality expectations during testing?
If a test result falls outside our target range, production is paused and the issue is investigated. Adjustments are made before the run continues to ensure finished products meet performance expectations. Related to QualityFew readers
  • Do you Double Cut on your pouch line?
Nope, not usually. But, like, why not? So, back in the day, people double-cut pouches to avoid design 'bleed,' where one pouch's design overlaps at the top or bottom of another. But guess what? Our pouching machine is super modern and precise. No need for the double-cut dance anymore. But why not play it safe and double-cut anyway? Well, here's the scoop: Double cutting slows down our cool machine, making the whole manufacturing process take longer. Sure, we can do it if you really, realFew readers
  • Can I get a window on my package?
Yes, but you must choose clear material for your pouch. A window is simply an unprinted area within your design, so it’s critical to make sure your print file is set up properly. See step 6 in the guide to Setup your Pouch design in Adobe Illustrator for more information.Few readers
  • Are your pouches suitable for liquid products?
No. Our pouches are made from materials that will begin breaking down when exposed to liquids for long periods of time.Few readers
  • If I use the child-resistant zipper, can I say my pouch is "child-resistant"?
While our compostable, child-resistant zippers (manufactured by Fresh-Lock®) will certainly help make your product packaging meet standards for child-resistance, using the zipper does not automatically make your overall product packaging “child-resistant”. Your finished pouch design itself must also meet the necessary requirements, and it should undergo its own research and lab testing to be certified child-resistant by the US Consumer ProdFew readers
  • Can you make Custom Sizes?
A: Yep, we sure can. But there are a few important things to know before you go custom. Q: What’s the catch with custom sizes? A: Custom sizes require special machine setups. That setup costs us time and money. So, to make it worth it, we need a minimum order of 5,000 units. The good news? No setup fee. Ever. Q: Is custom less sustainable? A: Unfortunately, yeah. Custom sizes often create more material waste — during setup and every time we run that size again. That’s why we alwaysFew readers
  • Can your packages be frozen?
Yes! Our bags are certified by the FDA for use of food storage at room temperature, refrigerated temps, and frozen temperatures as long as there is no 'thermal treatment in the container'. But they are not certified for cooking food in them. • What conditions are needed for the bags to biodegrade?
In order for the degradation process to begin for our bags, a few conditions need to be met, there needs to be: Moisture Sunlight / Air Heat Microbes The moisture, light, and heat provide the conditions for the microbes to flourish and do the work of breaking the material down into increasingly smaller pieces. The microbes are really the workhorses of this aerobic process. For more information on the required conditions, you can refer to this Composting How To guide (https://www.nrdc.Few readers
  • What types of materials / substrates are offered? What are their differences?
